This shot is from our theme day at Adam's place a couple of weeks ago. I shot more candids than actual posed images, and a few of them, like this one, really ended up having a lot of character as b/w portraits.
More images from this day can be found on the studio's forums, here: [link] , and on my own web site album, here: [link] .

Now this one seems a touch muted, or not as contrasted, but only by a hair. I am starting to wonder if dA does some crazy thing to the images L()L. Still a Fav though 6-;
They look VERY different when viewed on grey, black, or white backgrounds. Have you ever noticed that? I think it's more evident with the b/w images than color ones. It's the exact same file as on the forums and my gallery. Very possible that dA compresses it upon upload. I've never compared file size between what I upload and what the dA file ends up.
Thank you again though - your comment actually inspired me to post these here, where usually I wouldn't have put these in my dA gallery!
Yeah, I remember/know how the brightness of an image is affected by the colours surrounding it. Just do not always think about it. They (whoever they are) say the best colour to view images is a grey, or webcolour dddddd. Well I suppose some also say cccccc but I prefer the first.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example.
